The Spanish Riding School of Vienna at the Birmingham N.I.A

After four sell-out shows at Wembley Arena in November 2011, the world-famous Spanish Riding School of Vienna is returning to the UK at the Birmingham N.I.A this autumn!

The show is an impressive display of classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the ‘haute ecole’. Featuring dressage of a highly technical and graceful nature, you will be mesmerised by the absolute balance and harmony, and the extravagant displays of equine elegance set to classical music achieved by the beautiful White Lipizzaner stallions and their regal riders. The School will perform all of their famous in-hand work and movements above the ground such as the Capriole, Levade and Courbette during the show.

The event, to be held this year at the National Indoor Arena (NIA), Birmingham, will be hosted by Nicki Chapman** who will also provide the audience with the background to the wonderful story of The Spanish Riding School of Vienna. Team GB Olympian Dressage rider Carl Hester** and nine times Paralympic gold medallist Lee Pearson** will be demonstrating some of the dressage moves that the modern day sport practices, many of which are derived from the training and teachings of The Spanish Riding School.

Day 1 - After a morning departure from your local area, we will travel to your hotel in the West Midlands area. After time to check in and freshen up, and an early dinner at about 4.30pm, we will depart for the NIA in Birmingham, where seats are reserved for a fabulous evening of entertainment and horsemanship. After the show, we will return to our hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2 - After a full English breakfast, we will take you into Birmingham city centre where the incredible Bullring provides the equivalent of 26 football pitches worth of shopping opportunities; ideal for a spot of pre-Christmas retail therapy! All the big names are here, including some really special stores like Selfridges. We will commence your return journey home in the mid afternoon after a most wonderful weekend break.
