Welcome to our fabulous holiday to The Venetian Riviera in 2012!
At Omega Holidays we recognise that our customers will have different needs and priorities. With this in mind, we have put together a selection of fabulous airport and excursion options which will allow you to tailor-make the perfect holiday to suit you…

Your Hotel
We have chosen the 4 star Hotel Sheila in Lido di Jesolo as your base for this holiday. Please see the hotel tabs for further details.

Choose your optional excursions
Lido di Jesolo is right on the doorstep of Venice, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, and a trip across the lagoon is an absolute must. You can either make your own way or join a guided excursion, available to book in resort. However, to help you make the most of your time spent in this beautiful part of Italy, and for a change from the beach, you may wish to join our excursion to see the mighty Dolomites with their beautiful vistas and charming Tyrolean villages, including a visit to the resort of Cortina set high in the mountains. Alternatively, visits to Verona and Lake Garda may be more to your liking. Famed for its connection with Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’, Verona is also well-known for its artistic heritage and architecture, and is well worth a visit. Lake Garda’s sparkling waters have drawn visitors for centuries, and you are sure to enjoy your time in the attractive medieval lakeside resort of Sirmione. Please see the hotel tab for further details.

Of course, you may wish to simply relax and while away the days at your leisure. That’s fine too - after all, this is your perfect holiday!

Your Holiday Resort Lido di Jesolo
The fabulous beach resort of Lido di Jesolo is situated in North East Italy on a 10-mile stretch of golden sand close to the beautiful city of Venice. The resort is a great destination in its own right, and a fantastic base from which to explore this amazing area of Italy which includes the flat, sun-kissed coastline of the Venetian Riviera with soft, sandy beaches and sparkling seas; the awe-inspiring, mountain scenery of the Italian Alpine region; and legendary cities with glorious architecture, unique art and culture - including exquisite Venice, said to be the most beautiful city ever built.

Lido di Jesolo was a small village which gained fame in the nineteenth century when the first bathing establishment was opened on the beautiful Dolomite sands - and beach holidays became the fashion! Now a popular beach resort, visitors are enchanted by the inviting golden sands, the shimmering blue sea - and the resort’s great attractions! Lido di Jesolo is clean and well-organized, with shops and services which are designed for the convenience of the visitor.

You can relax, laze on the golden sands or take a swim, stroll around the shops, or have a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants, cafés and ice cream parlours which the resort has to offer.

If you are feeling more energetic, you can take advantage of the flat terrain and beautiful weather to see more of the area by hired bicycle. Or have fun at Aqualandia, said to be the best Water Park in Europe with outdoor pools, water games, live entertainment and attractions that include the largest water slide in the world – all in a lovely green setting of 80,000 square metres! There are many sports facilities in the resort can play tennis, basketball, five-a-side football and mini-golf, or try your hand at archery or go-carting. With beach activities and events organized by the town, there is much to see and do here on a great 7-night holiday which includes the opportunity to visit Venice, the magical Dolomites, the legendary city of Verona and beautiful Lake Garda.

Venice
Surrounded by sparkling waters and built on islands in the Venetian Lagoon, this unique city is one of the most important tourist destinations in the world. With a romantic skyline, stunning architecture and a fabulous artistic, musical, and cultural heritage, Venice became a fashionable city for the rich and famous during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and its popularity continues to this day.

With numerous world-famous attractions, such as the Grand Canal, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Piazza San Marco, you can also enjoy simple pleasures here; browsing the shops, perhaps taking a gondola ride, or enjoying a relaxed stroll while taking in the ambience of one of the most romantic cities on earth.

Venice is easy to access from Lido di Jesolo by public transport; by bus to Punta Sabbioni and then by Vaporetti (water bus). The cost of this is approximately 25-30 Euros per person. However, should you wish, you can ask our representative in resort to organise a guided excursion. The cost of this is approximately 50-55 Euros per person, and may be your preferred option for a carefree visit to this beautiful city.

Classic Dolomites
Cortina, known as the Queen of the Dolomites, is a picturesque resort set high in the stunning Alpine mountain range which divides Italy and Austria where you can enjoy fantastic scenery and the cosmopolitan atmosphere of a stylish holiday resort. As you relax on this guided full-day tour, we will pass though inspiring mountain scenery and see distant glaciers, forests of larch and pine, soaring peaks and emerald lakes with still waters which mirror the beautiful mountain scenery. We will see Tyrolean villages set high on the mountainsides, with stupendous, rocky outcrops and verdant valleys below. You can relax, breathe in the pure Alpine air, and enjoy a day of soaring contrasts with the coastal lowlands of the Venetian Riviera.
Usually departs on Mondays. £45pp

Verona and Sirmione(Lake Garda)
Magical Verona is the city of the most celebrated lovers in history - Romeo and Juliet. It is also renowned for its artistic heritage and is a major tourist attraction with its wonderful architecture including the Roman Ampitheatre, the picturesque Piazza delle Erbe, and the medieval Castelvecchio. You can also see the buildings said to have inspired the setting of Shakespeare’s famous play, including the pretty balcony where Juliet speaks her lover’s name as he secretly listens below.

The sparkling blue waters, misty mountains, hot sun and crisp mountain air of Lake Garda have enchanted visitors for generations; its admirers range from the Roman poet Catullus to our own Sir Winston Churchill! On the southern shore of the Lake, the pretty resort of Sirmione is famous for its fairytale thirteenth century castle, its winding medieval streets, and the thermal springs which have attracted visitors for centuries.
